This book covers the experiences of the players between the declaration of war and the entry into a theatre of war; some players entered the war within six days of the declaration while others took anything up to eighteen months.

Describes all the battles that the players were involved in, and the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the players and winning of gallantry medals.
